ABOUT JEFFREY GEE CHIN
Jeffrey Gee Chin is an award-winning filmmaker and publisher who breathes life into the untold stories of immigrants. He directed Angel Island Immigration Station Foundations new media documentaries highlighting immigrants from China, Russia, Philippines, and India. He is best known for his award-winning short film "Lil Tokyo Reporter" which stars Academy Award-Winner Chris Tashima as Civil Rights Leader Sei Fujii. The film won over 21 awards, qualified for Cannes Short Film Corner, and screened with the U.S. State Department in South Korea, China, and Japan. Jeffrey led several projects to honor Fujii’s legacy by building a Memorial Lantern, Historic Designations, a successful petitioning for a Posthumous Law License, and biography “A Rebel’s Outcry”. Jeffrey was mentored by the late John Singleton director of “Boyz n’ the Hood” and creator of FX’s “Snowfall”. As a feature and commercial director, Jeffrey worked with Sam’s Club, AECOM, Mattel, and BLACKPINK & Spotify.
